Roberto's River Road
Top of my list for Louisiana gourmet creole cooking. About 10 miles south of LSU on river road sits a 150 year old building that in the 1850’s housed J.J. LaPlace & Son’s General Store. Don’t let the location fool you, this place is a diamond in the rough. No need to go into how incredible the food is, pictures tell everything (Shrimp Roberto is a must). Portions are big and the meal is heavy so save room for dessert, the bread pudding is insane (the night I was there they had chocolate, vanilla, and apple cinnamon all made in house). If you are in the area this is a must, worth the 15 min drive from Baton Rouge. I owe Steve and Connie big time for this.
